Get To Know Me!

Howdy, my name is Clay and I'm the creator of...well yeah...everything all over here. The brand simply derives from Emerald green is my favorite color, Wolf is one of my favorite animals, and I uh...create! My Youtube channel was something I always wanted to try for the challenge and experience. What a monster it has been. Creating the channel and now this site is also an opportunity to keep doing what I love while expanding my abilities. They both fit my motivation to create while not having to repeat the same thing twice.

Where I Started

Since I was a kid, my biggest thrill has been the idea of something not existing until I made it. I'm a hybrid of my dad's building and my mom's art. Creating in any capacity is in my blood. I did not pursue my craft, though. By society, that art is only for fun and will not get me anywhere. While my motivation has waned at times, the desire has always been underneath. Eventually the thoughts of "what if" got more exhausting than just doing it. The biggest push has been finding my own originality. I dabble in everything I can. Each art medium has a technique or understanding that can push my next project higher. My end goal is when I get to believe in the kid that did not get to believe.

My Style

This might shock people, but I like to draw animals. I use wood for the bulk of my projects. Kudos to all the amazing artists that use standard canvas, but I get to bored with how common it is. I also have no desire to push my ability to a perfectionist level. For originality, canvases were an easy bye-bye. Colors-I like vibrant while staying somewhat realistic. How some artists use colors to express their current state; mine is to push myself into the state I want to be in. When others see my art, I want them to feel a little lighter. For technique, I like to keep it simple, layered, and anything goes. I believe realism artists are the best of the best, but when I admire art I love to see how an artist might have done it as if I were in their shoes.

My Channel

My YouTube channel is a challenge to myself after many years of debating. Anyone who has watched YouTube has wondered what it would be like, but it's scary to start. The channel is ANYTHING wood art. If you have noticed, it is currently dominated by keychains. It is intentional. Their size and ease to repeat allowed me to focus on YouTube itself. Sentimentally, keychains are where my wood art began. As a kid, keychains were the only souvenir I could afford the rare chance I went anywhere. When my longtime best friend passed away, it was the last project he saw me start. I mostly work on small projects on camera as skill and space permit. I chose a faceless channel (yes, I am shy) because I want to focus on my art, not my character. As I improve, I want to create functional pieces that serve a purpose while being aesthetically pleasing with my style. (Like my clocks, decor trays, and key hangers). If you happened to have read this far, THANK YOU, and I'm always open to suggestions.
